Abstract

During Nov.-Dec. 1992 samples of arecanuts and soap nut powder (Acacia sinuata) were collected from shops in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India, and assessed for aflatoxin content. Aspergillus flavus was the predominant fungus of 7 species identified and aflatoxins AfB2 and AfG1 were identified in both products.
