Abstract

Three hundred soil samples collected from twenty districts of Rajasthan were screened for the presence of keratinophilic fungi. Seven different species were encountered in the one hundred and thirty five positive samples of which Chrysosporium tropicum dominated the soils of Rajasthan. Organic content and pH studies of the soils were worked out and correlated with the occurrence of the fungi.
