Abstract

Of the ten fungicides tested in-vitro, carbendazim, carboxin, chloroneb, benomyl and thiophanate were most effective in restricting the growth of Rhizoctonia so/ani causing seedling blight of sugarbeet. In soil conditions, chloroneb, brassicol and carboxin effectively reduced the seedling blight. Out of the three methods tested, drenching with higher dose of fungicides was found superior over others. All the three methods of application of fungicides significantly improved the vigour and health of sugarbeet seedlings.
