Abstract

The Fifth International Congress of Plant Pathology which was held in Kyoto during the period 20-27 August, 1988 was very successful as 2,134 participants from 69 countries attended the various sessions and symposia. During the conference, 47 prefectural agricultural organisations in Japan had the opportunity to display their major research achievements in an exhibition held in the Event Hall. The scientific exhibition was highly valued by the participants who became acquainted with the activities of these organisations in the field of plant pathology and extension in Japan. In this book the panels displayed in the exhibition have been reproduced for publication.

This is a proceeding of a North Central Region Soybean Disease Workshop held in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10 and 11, 1987. It provides the latest information available so far on the major diseases affecting soy beans in the North Central Soybean growing area of United States. The proceedings are divided into three different seasons on the basis of diseases i.e. early season, midseason and late season. There are eighteen articles dealing with various important aspects of fungal, bacterial, nematode and viral diseases. The chapters are meticulously written by various scientists of repute.
