Abstract
Taxonomy is the mother of all sciences and taxonomists are endangered species. India has been the cradle for fungi and 1/ 3 of global fungal diversity exists in India. Among fungi belonging to Eumycota, Meliolales though occur prominently on forest plants and other plants, neither check list exists nor full pledged identification manual is available ut for exhaustive work done by Dr. Hosagoudar. Meliola, psidii Fries. has been observed and regarded as the type species of the genus Meliola.
