Abstract

Partial resistance to powdery mildew iErysiphe polygoni) in sixteen genotypes was assessed under field condition. Two genotypes viz., PDU to and IC12/2 exhibited partial resistance and had lowest per cent mildew cover and apparent infection rate. AUDPC based on mildew severity was a more robust disease parameter than logit rate (r) and gompit rate (k) in identifying slow mildewing resistance in urdbean. AUDPC values were significantly lower in slow mildewing genotypes and showed good correlation with peak severity (r = 0.977), incidence (r = 0.754), colonies per leaflet (r = 0.726) and conidia per colony (r = 0.703).
