Abstract

Inoculation of 100 and above young adults of Rotylenchulus reniformis/plant reduced the nodule, fresh and dry weight of shoot and root of French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) in pot experiments. The maximum reduction in nodule number and subsequent decrease in fresh weight was recorded at the highest level (10,000 individuals) of inoculum. The total loss in protein content of seed was 12% in inoculated seedlings.
