The results are presented of a scanning electron microscopic study of the ontogeny of the teliospore wall development in Neovossia indica [Tilletia indica] from wheat cv. WL 711 up to 28 days post-infection. Teliospores appeared 10 days post-infection as small circular smooth-walled bodies 9 鎚 in diameter. They increased in size to 25 鎚 by day 20, at which stage small round-ended protuberances were observed. By day 25, surface rodlets had developed and the bases were slightly loosened with bluntmargins; the teliospores were 34-40 鎚. The teliospore increased little more in size by day 28 but surface ornamentation became clearer; exposure projections were prominent and the base of the rodlets had loosened further.
