Abstract

During 1993-94 and 1994-95, carbendazim (as Bavistin), carboxin + thiram (as Vitavax), tebuconazole (as Raxil) and difenoconazole (as Dividend) were applied to wheat seeds naturally infected with Ustilago segetum var. tritici in Ranichauri, Uttar Pradesh, India. All of the fungicides reduced disease incidence, with tebuconazole being the most effective, followed by difenoconazole.
