Abstract

Host parasite relationships between fungal pathogens and the seeds, seedlings, leaves and pods of cabbage and cauliflower, were investigated in Kumaun, Uttar Pradesh, India. A total of 24 fungal species were isolated from the seeds. Fusarium moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi] was isolated from all the seeds. Of 6 fungicides tested carbendazim (as Bavistin) gave the best control of seedborne pathogens followed by thiram, captafol and mancozeb (as Dithane M-45). Carboxin + thiram (as Vitavax) and quintozene (as Brassicol) were least effective.
