Abstract

In tests with the soyabean variety Bragg, there was a significant reduction in the quantity of thiophanate-methyl (0.2% w/w) on seed with increase in storage period. Maximum persistence of fungicide was found on seeds stored in polythene lined jute bags followed by polypropylene polyethylene (PP + PE) bags. Storage at 30deg C resulted in greater degradation as compared with 20degree C. The interactions between temperature, period of storage and type of storage container on the persistence of thiophanate-methyl was significant.
