Losses of number and weight of fruits were dependent on the viruses involved in tomato mosaic. Reduction in number and weight of tomato fruit recorded was 34.02 and 59.77 per cent respectively due to TMV and 40.78 and 49.23 per cent, respectively due to CMV infection. The viability of the pollens was also adversely affected to the. extent of 12.20 and 5.95 per cent in tomato plants affected with CMV and TMV, respectively as against 7.23 per cent non-viable pollens observed in healthy plants.
