Social Science in Conservation and developmentAbstract
RAPID progress in modern science and technology descends upon man and his society with supersonic speed, while his social conscience moves rather slowly. The knowledge and technique of utilization of resources is far ahead of normal practices and ways of living of common man. The gap between these two aspects, if not shortened, may bring about a crisis in social equilibrium. Often there is a tendency among the technologist, biological and physical scientists not to recognize this fact ( and to ignore the development of social sciences ) when they try to solve the problems in which man and human society are involved.
