Talati and Mehta (1958) and Dana etal (1964) have studied the quality of underground and irrigation water of Bundi in Chambal commanded area of Rajasthan. It was found that underground waters of Bundi district are generally of injurious nature and a special care is necessary while using it. The soil characteristics shows that drainage measures are must if canal irrigation is introduced in this area to prevent the development of the salinity and alkalinity and water logging problems.
