Abstract
For sound crop planning, knowledge of quality of irrigation water is essential. The magnitude of essentiality is more in multiple cropping programme where two or more crops are. raised successively on the same patch of land in a year. While judging the quality of irrigation water, nature and type of soil should be given due importance ( Singh et al 1967, Satyanarayan et al 1967. Singh and Bliurnbla 1968, Subramani and Varma 19699 Kanwar and Mehta 1970). The soils of Agricultural College farm Parbhani are being irrigated with well waters continuously since long tAchari and Muragkar 1959). However, the quality of irrigation water has not been appraised so far considering the characteristics of the soils. An attempt has, therefore, been made in this paper to study the quality of irrigation waters and their suitability for irrigation throughout the year.
