Economic of Terracing .Versus Non-terracing in Relation to Comparative Capacity of Fodder Production Under Sub-temperate Climate and Raided Conditions

Abstract
On this aspect there appears to be no work done in India under sub-temperate climate and rainfall conditions. Under such climate Themeda-Arundinella type of grassland cover is found in Northern mountain belt from 450 to 2500 in elevation which includes species like Thenieda annethera, Chrysopogon montaanus, Pennesetuin orientale etc. (T. R. Narayan et. al. 1972)4 Poor quality natural cover, scarcity of cultivable land, absence of irrigational facilities and paucity of quality fodder haunt the necessity to conduct such study to augment maximum fodder from the small land holdings of the farmers of Himachal.
