Status of Nitrate-nitrogen and Salt Pollution in the Groundwater of District Ludhiana, Punjab

Abstract
Groundwater samples of 43 running tubewells from different blocks of Ludhiana district were collected and analysed for their use in irrigation and drinking purposes Analysis revealed that groundwater is fit for irrigation purtros. For drinking purposes. 76.74% (33) samples exceeded the critical limit 10 mg/l for No3-N, rendering them unfit for drinking.
