31
Abstract
Irrigation Planning in India was made mainly on the en- gineering aspects but the agronomic aspects have been neglected in the past. Hence for most of the existing projects, water supply was highly inconsistent and insufficient to irrigate the total command area during the crop growing season. This study reports a case study to investigate main causes of existing problems and to find feasible solution. The study was carried out on Baghla canal and its seven minors viz. Pervedabad, Sujuana, Madraha, Uniapur, Parsara, Chheria and Tatarganj of YAMUNA PUMP CANAL project, district Allahabad of Uttar Pradesh
