Abstract
An experiment was conducted during 1989 and 1990 to study the effect of row spacings, fertility levels and moisture conservation practices on rainfed cotton 'Vikas' on sandy loam soil at Kanpur. A significant improvement in yield, its attributes, quality and economics were observed due to wider spacing of 60 cm x 30 cm, application of organic residue mulch @5 tonnes per ha (paddy straw+dry grasses) and up to 54 kg nitro en dose along with 40 kg P205/ha over their respective levels.
