Rainfall Erosivity Index For Kandi Area Of Punjab
19
Abstract
Sediment yield estimation from small watersheds are of vital importance for solution of many water resource problems. A study has been made for the development of sediment yield 'node' using the historical observation of micro- watersheds (II) and (III) in the catchment of Patiala-Ki-Rao, along the Shivalik foothills. Annual sediment yields were computed for different erosivity indices (El30, El15, El45 and El 60) using the Universal soil loss Equation and El60 was found to be the best for the Patiala-Ki-Rao Micro watersheds in the Kandi area of Punjab.
