METEOROLOGICAL DROUGHT ANALYSIS BASED ON RAINFALL DATA OF NAGPUR

Abstract
Rainfall data firm 1966 to 1998 were analysed to study the weekly, monthly, seasonal and yearly drought of Nagpur. The observed frequency of drought was maximum in 23rd week, month of December and post-monsoon season. During the 33 years period, 4 drought years were experienced. The severe most drought occurred in 1972, when total annual rainfall was 56.25 % of the average annual rainfall.
