Abstract

The experiment was carried out during 2022-23 and 2023-24 at College Farm, College of Horticulture, SDAU, Jagudan, Gujarat. The treatments comprised of three fertility levels and seven levels of jeevamrut application having total 21 treatment combinations. The experiment was laid out in RBD (factorial) with three replications. The results showed that among fertility levels maximum N (145.30 kg/ha), P (24.93 kg/ha) and K (106.39 kg/ha) uptake by the plant was observed in F1 (100% RDF) which was at par with F2 (80% RDF). Maximum soil available N (196.36 kg/ha), P2O5 (39.89 kg/ha) and K2O (299.59 kg/ha) was recorded in F1 (100% RDF). As far as jeevamrut application, J6 (basal application of ghanjeevamrut 750 kg/ ha + foliar spray of jeevamrut @ 5%) proved best treatment for maximum N (145.38 kg/ha), P (25.38 kg/ ha) and K (106.39 kg/ha) uptake by the plant (kg/ha) as well as soil available N (192.05 kg/ha), P2O5 (39.17 kg/ha) and K2O (297.42 kg/ha). Nutrient status was increased by the application of 100% RDF as 4.70% N, 10.28% P2O5 and 2.09% K2O and 2.40% N, 8.29% P2O5 and 1.35% K2O by the application of treatment J6. It is concluded that the application of 100 per cent RDF (100/50/50 kg NPK/ ha) through chemical fertilizers with basal application of jeevamrut @ 750 kg/ha and spray of jeevamrut @ 5 per cent for getting higher nutrient status of soil and plants in rabi onion.
