About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Journal of Soil Salinity and Water Quality publishes results of novel, original, and quality research, critical reviews, short communications and salient recommendations of scientific conferences and symposia on soil salinity and irrigation water quality research.
The society encourages to publish the contributions that demonstrate remote sensing and GIS technologies for resource (soil, water and vegetation) mapping, pedogenesis, characterization of salt-affected soils and water, their reclamation and management technologies, drainage and soil reclamation engineering, physiological and biological (including microbial) processes to understand stress tolerance and crop productivity, and ecology of saline habitats.
Articles dealing with investigations of fundamental, basic and applied nature in saline agriculture, horticulture, agroforestry, agro-ecosystems and saline ecosystems; natural resources management; conservation agriculture; judicious utilization of poor-quality waters; domestication of under-explored and improved halophytic crops and economically important wild species, salinity tolerance models, bioengineering of crop improvement, and biophysical and socioeconomic aspects are also published.
Peer Review Process
The Chief Editor scrutinizes the manuscripts received from authors for their suitability to the scope of the Journal. After the suitability assessment, acknowledgment is issued and the manuscript is sent to two expert reviewers preferably through national and international editors for their comments/modifications/alterations regarding the suitability for the publication. Generally, 3-4 weeks time is given to reviewer(s)/editors to complete the review process. The Editorial Board appoints the reviewers taking into consideration their expertise and experience. Guidelines for authors are published on the society website as well as in the journal which helps the authors to prepare manuscripts according to the journal format. Â After the article has been examined by the reviewer(s), it is also suitably edited by the member of the Editorial Board and if necessary is redirected to the corresponding author for revision in the light of comments given by the reviewers and concerned member of editorial board through the Chief Editor. After revision, the Chief Editor takes the final decision regarding its publication.
