Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

1. The journal publishes research articles, review articles, research notes and communications in basic and applied research on economic aspects of agriculture and rural development. Comprehensive review articles in the area of agricultural economics (including livestock, horticulture and fisheries), conference/symposia proceedings and book reviews are also published in the Journal. To encourage the young researchers, recent abstracts of M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses in agricultural economics are also published.

2. The journal is managed by the eminent economists under the domain of Agricultural Economics Research Association (India). The authors submitting papers to Agricultural Economics Research Review should be members of this Association.

3. Paper submission

• The soft copy of the manuscript may be submitted at aeraindia@gmail.com

• At the time of manuscript submission a processing fee of Rs 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) per paper has to be paid by the author(s). It is applicable from 1st January, 2015.

• For papers which are accepted for publication, at least the corresponding/first author should be a member of AERA (India). It is applicable from January-June 2015 issue of Agricultural Economics Research Review.

• The authors should submit the following declarations:

(a) The paper entitled “........” has not been and will not be submitted in full or in part to any other journal till the decision of AERR on it.

(b) On publication in AERR, the copyrights on the full contents of the paper will be of Agricultural Economics Research Association (India). The processing fee and membership fee may be sent through Demand Draft (D/D) or multicity cheque payable to Agricultural Economics Research Association (India), New Delhi and should be sent to

4. Authors should include the complete source of research article, like project, along with sponsor, M.Sc./Ph.D. thesis, etc. They should mention the title of the Project/Thesis also.

5. The length of papers should not be more than 20 (double space) typed pages, including tables, diagrams and appendices.

6. Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) with e-mail address(es) should be provided on a separate page along with the title of the article.

7. Only essential mathematical notations may be used. All statistical formulae should be neatly typed. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively in plain arabic superscripts.

8. Abstracts of recent M.Sc. theses should not exceed one typed page and those of Ph.D. theses, two typed pages. The authors must mention at the top of the abstracts the degree for which the thesis was submitted and the year of award, like M.Sc. (2014), Ph.D. (2014). The name of ‘major advisor’ should also be included.

9. References: Only cited works should be included in reference list. The citation of references should be in the following order: author(s) name(s); year; title of article; name of journal; volume; number; and pages. Please follow the style of citations as in the latest issue of this journal. Papers not submitted in the standard format, as suggested above will not be considered for publication. The reference list should be alphabetized and not numbered. To avoid ambiguity, the title of journal should be given in full.

The following examples, as typical entries, provide guidance for entries in the reference list.
