Abstract

A study was conducted during rainy season (kharif) 1994-1996 at Hanumanamatti to determine the stability parameters with respect to 5 traits over' 18 finger millet (Eleusine coracana L.) genotypes. The pooled anallysis of variance showed differential behavior 'of genotypes over the environments. None of the genotypes was stable for all the characters evaluated. The genotypes 'KM 225', 'PPR 2614', 'MR 16' and 'PR 202' were found to be stable for grain yield. However, the entries 'GPU 34', 'MR 12', 'EC 50-90', 'PS 110' and 'GPU 32' which possessed higher mean gram yield could be utilized for developing high yielding stable finger millet genotype.
