Abstract

The present histochemical study was conducted on ten Gaddi sheep foetii. The foetii were then divided into 4 stages i.e. stage I (31-60 days), stage II (61-90 days), stage III (91-120 days) and stage IV (121 days - till term). The histochemical reactions were observed in different tissue components show in the presence of glycogen, sulphated mucosubstances, lipids and cholesterol. The capsule of the epididymis showed weak to moderate concentration of glycogen as the gestation progressed. A weak reaction for mucopolysaccharides was observed
throughout gestation in the lining epithelium of epididymis but the reaction for lipids could not be observed in peritubular connective tissue layer in stage II of gestation.
