This study was conducted on 15 buffalo foetii ranging from 25 cm CVRL to 98 cm CVRL (130-295 days gestational age) to demonstrate the various histochemical moieties in ductus epididymidis. The tunica albuginea showed a weak to moderate reaction for acid and neutral mucopolysaccharides in the caput and corpus and weak reaction in the cauda. Strong PAS-positive reaction was observed in the basement membrane and apical portion of the epididymal epithelium of caput, corpus and cauda region of both the age groups. Weak activity of acid mucopolysaccharides was observed in epididymal epithelium of all the regions of ductus epididymidis in both the groups. The lipid droplets had been demonstrated in the epididymal epithelium of caput, corpus and cauda epididymidis of buffalo foetii. In group I, a moderate reaction for basic proteins was noticed in the supranuclear part of epididymal epithelium which increased to moderate to strong in group II.Downloads
