Abstract

The present study was performed on cloaca in White leghorn (Gallus gallus domesticus) and Guinea fowl (Numida meleagris). The cloacal tissues were collected from 6 adult fowl of each species without any sex determination. The PAS positive activity was witnessed at epithelial villi and lumen of epithelio-cloacal gland in all the cloacal segments. Alkaline phosphatase moderate activity was exposed in the tunica mucosa, epitheliocloacal gland and epithelium on the other hand submucosa of all cloacal segments showed very weak activity of alkaline phosphatase through blackish brown colored. The moderate to very mild activity of acid phosphatase was shown by mucosal tunic through blackish brown colored.
