Abstract

Morphological studies were conducted on the amygdala of calves and adult Indian buffaloes. It was almond shaped small mass of gray matter in calves and adults, located lateral to the posterior cornu of lateral ventricle. Dorsally, the amygdala was partly continuous with the external capsule and claustrum. Dorsomedially, it was related to the putamen and ventrally it was continuous with the cerebral cortex.
