Abstract

In this study, a total of thirty six local male kids (3 months of age) of Assam divided into three groups were used. Group I animals received no zinc supplementation while the Group II and III animals received inorganic and organic forms of zinc supplements, respectively. Epididymal tissues presented a moderate activity for lactate dehydrogenase in all the segments of the tubular epithelium at 4 months of age, moderate to strong activity at 5 and 6 months and intense activity at 7 months of age. The tubular epithelium of the caput showed moderate to strong activity of malate dehydrogenase at 4 and 5 months and strong at 6 and 7 months of age, while its activity in the tubular epithelium of corpus was weak at all the ages. On the contrary, a strong activity was noticed in the cauda irrespective of experimental groups.
