Abstract

The study was conducted on 30 male goat fetii ranging from 0 day to full term, divided into five groups consisted of 6 animals in each group. Only pars disseminata of prostate gland was present in prenatal goat. The primordium of prostate gland appeared at 55 days of gestation. At 57 days of gestation, the submucosa of urethra showed solid prostatic ducts. At 81 days of gestation, the duct formation in the prostate glands was seen throughout the thickness of lamina propria submucosa in the caudal part of pelvic urethra. At 93 days of gestation, the capsule surrounding the lamina propria submucosa of pelvic urethra was distinct. At 150 days of gestation, a distinct capsule was formed composed of collagen, elastic and reticular fibres. Trabeculae from the capsule penetrated the lamina propria submucosa of pelvic urethra and divided the gland into distinct lobes.
