Abstract

The present investigation revealed the distribution of T and B lymphocytes in small intestine of indigenous piglets of Assam during pre-weaning period of different age groups ranging from 0 to 56 days. The sIgM+ cells were found in the follicle and dome up to 14 days old piglets and secretory IgA cells were found in the lamina propria and crypts of 56 days old piglets. T cells were present in intrafollicular area, lamina propria and inter epithelial area in all the age groups. However, CD8+ T cells appeared in the older animals.
