Histomorphological studies were conducted on the pulmonary bronchi of six healthy Black Bengal goats. Bronchi were of primary, secondary and tertiary types. The bronchial wall consisted of mucosa, submucosa, cartilage layer and adventitia. The bronchial epithelium was of pseudostratified columnar ciliated type with gobletcells. Submucosa was separated from lamina propria by lamina muscularis mucosae. Bronchial glands were abundantly present in primary bronchi becoming less abundant in secondary and scarce in tertiary bronchi. Bronchial cartilages were in the form of small plates in primary bronchi becoming less abundant and sparse in secondary and tertiary bronchi respectively. The glands, goblet cells and cilia present in the conductive airways comprised the protective muco-ciliary apparatus.
