Abstract

This study was undertaken to obtain the baseline hematological values of farmed Emu, since scanty information is available on the hemogram of Emu in Indian agro climatic conditions. Various hematological parameters of eight adult Emus were measured. Packed Cell Volume (PCV), Hemoglobin %, Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH) and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), Total Erythrocyte Count (TEC), Total Leucocyte count (TLC), Thrombocyte count and Differential leucocyte count (DLC) were determined.
