Flowcytometric analysis revealed the presence of CD4 and CD8 positive thymocytes in the thymus of the different age groups of birds studied. The distribution pattern of CD4 and CD8 cells in thymus was different between the age groups studied. However, in all the age groups, CD4 cells were higher than CD8 cells which indicated the immune status of birds in different age groups in the present study. Similarly, the CD4 and CD8 ratio in thymus was increased from day-old (1.09) to forty weeks of age (1.56) which indicated the positive immune status of the birds in the present study.Downloads
