Abstract

A study was conducted on the kidneys of Large White Yorkshire pig of either sex between the ages of 5-8 months. The microscopic studies of kidneys of 6 Large White Yorkshire pig showed that the thick fibrous capsule consisted of two layers, the outer layer of dense collagenous fibres with a few elastic fibres. Few elongated fibroblast
and some smooth muscle cells were also present in outer layer. The inner layer consisted predominantly of reticular fibres with collagenous fibres and had few distinct thick smooth muscles.
