Abstract

The present study was conducted on 220 skin samples from 20 goats divided into two groups. Histologically the structure of skin was almost similar in all body regions. Epidermis was lined by keratinized stratified squamous epithelium. Epidermis consisted of stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum granulosum
and stratum corneum from interior to exterior. The stratum lucidum was absent in skin of all the regions of present study. The epidermis was avascular and free from nerve endings. Microscopically thickness of epidermis was found to decrease from dorsal to ventral part of all regions.
