Abstract

The Gandaki Longan 1 is an early-maturing variety of longan having superiorquality fruits and dwarf tree stature. The tree crown is spherical with densecanopy. Fruits are round or oblate with thin, yellow-brown skin. The fleshseparates easily from seeds. It is creamy to waxy yellow with a crisp texture. It isa regular-bearer, large-fruited cultivar (average fruit weight is 13-16 g), havingthick and firm aril, high aril recovery rate (edible part of 69-74%) and sweetwith TSS of 20-23°Brix. It provides diversification opportunity to litchi-producingareas of country.
