Abstract

There are a number of grape varieties grown in different parts of the country. However, Perlette and Beauty Seedless are early-ripening varieties grown only in subtropical parts of region. Of these, Perlette is prone to shot berries, while Beauty Seedless suffers with uneven ripening and fruit quality traits. The scientists of IARI, New Delhi, have released three hybrids, viz. Pusa Aditi, Pusa Trishar and Pusa Swarnika, which are free from these shortcomings and give quality produce for fresh consumption before the onset of monsoon.
