Turfgrass industry for empowering rural youth

Abstract

Turfgrass industry is money spinning business for technically sound youth. In India, not a single institution offers such course to meet huge demand of skilled professionals of turfgrass management. Sensing this requirement for skilled and qualified candidates, Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture of ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, has taken initiatives in developing a course, which can help to sharpen the skills required to maintain modern turf facilities. The inaugural ceremony of the Certificate Course in Turfgrass Management was held on 5 December 2015 at Swami Vivekananda Hall at Navsari.
