Abstract
The Fertiliser Development and Consultation Organisation, starting its activities in mid-1980’s has broughtout the book under review as the 51st publication. Dr HLS Tandon, the author of this book is closely associated with
practically each of the past 50 books either as the author or editor, thereby making him as a unique institution. This
record, to the best of the knowledge of the reviewer, is not surpassed by anyone else in Soil Science in India. These
books are well received not only in India but in many other countries too as authoritative and reliable source of
information from India. Following the past tradition, the present book is treating the subject in a holistic manner
using simple language and Indian data.
