Abstract

Wheat is staple food crop for the world. Nutrient management is one of the important determinants of the yield of the crop. Conventional fertilizers are having several challenges in form of the cost, their losses in the environment and their use efficiencies. Nanofertilizer is emerging as a potential alternative to these fertilizers owing to their small size. Nanofertilizers for both macro and micro nutrients have seen the improvement in the yield and other quality parameters and nutrient content in grain. These also have potential to address the abiotic stress in the crop and holds potential for biofortification.
