In recent years, yield stagnation in wheat has been observed due to soil degradation, inadequate application of fertilizers and irrigation, which poses a serious threat to the sustainability of India's food security. This can be overcome by some scientific groundwork that focuses on the judicious application of these inputs in wheat. Taking this into consideration, the present field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2019-20 at Hisar in Haryana state to study the effect on wheat growth and yield attributes. The split plot design was used for conducting the field trial using three irrigation levels as main plot treatment along with four fertilizer levels viz., control, 75, 100 and 125 per cent of recommended dose (RDF) in the sub-plots. The results indicated that application of the three irrigations resulted in the tallest plant (110.8 cm), highest number of tillers (109.36), Leaf area Index (3.23), crop growth rate (13.14 g m-2 day-1), , number of grains per spike (46.32), longest spike (10.70 cm), test weight (41.48 g), net returns (62701 Rs. ha-1) and B: C ratio (2.18) as compared to lower irrigation levels. In case of fertilizer levels, 125 percent RDF resulted into tallest plant (112.9 cm), highest number of tillers (110.27), growth rate (13.32 g m-2 day-1), test weight (42.74 g), and net returns (56082 Rs. ha-1).
