Abstract

The saphenous artery of camel was the most extensive branch of the femoral artery. It dispatched the medial plantar artery, lateral planter artery, deep plantar metatarsal artery and superficial plantar metatarsal artery during its downward course and then continued as the third plantar metatarsal artery on the plantar aspect of the metatarsus. The latter issued a stout branch to the distal deep plantar arch and continued as the third plantar common digital artery. The medial plantar artery and lateral plantar artery continued as the second plantar metatarsal artery and fourth plantar metatarsal artery respectively.
