Abstract

Different types (4) of inactivated infectiolls hydropericardium (IHP) vaccines were evaluated in broilers. Three or them were oil emulsion adjuvanted vaccines and the fourth was without adjuvant but with aqueous surfactant. Though all the 4 IHP vaccines were safe and potent and elicited satisfactory immune response in broilers, the rHP vaccine containing Mineral oil, tween80 and Span80 elicited greater and sustained immune response and could be used in breeders. The IHP vaccine containing Montanide ISA 70 adjuvant was less viscous and easier to administer.
