Abstract

A total of 100 trials were made to obtain semen from mithun bulls by massage method. Out of 100 trials in 43 trials only seminal vesicles were massaged and in remaining 57 trials both seminal vesicles and ampullae were massaged. The efficacy of collection of semen by massaging seminal vesicle alone was 4.65% and by seminal vesicle and ampullae was 54.39%. The volume (ml), mass activity (1-4), initial motility (%), sperm concentration (millionlml) and live sperm count (%) were O.77±O.08, 1.90±O.13, 67.74±2.44, 507.74±65.72 and 68.53±1.85 respectively.
