Abstract

Pursuing Antle (1983) and Correlated Random Effects (CRE) framework, this study focuses on examining the impacts of mixed/intercropping system on the risk profile of agricultural households. To capture the risk profile of the households, we have focused on mean, variance, skewness, and kurtosis. We found that mixed cropping increases the risk exposure to the households when we do not put any condition on the combinations. However, we find that it might reduce the risk exposure to the agricultural households when we restricts to a particular crop combinations. In nutshell, the combination that farmers will choose might increase and stabilise their crop yields.
