Distribution pattern of Puccinia graminis tritici pathotypes in India

Pathotype 40A(62G29) virulent on Sr2, Sr5, Sr6, Sr7b,Sr8, Sr9, Sr11 and few other genes; 40-1 (62G29-I) with
additional virulence on Sr24 compared to 40A( 62G29) and 21 A-2 (75G5) virulent on Sr6, Sr7b, Sr13, Sr28, Sr3O were
predominant on wheat (Triticum aestivum L. emenq Fiori and Paal) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) in India during
1995-97. In addition to many identified wheat varieties, Sr25.,Sr26. Sr27, Sr31, Sr32 , Sr35. Sr37 and Sr39 maintained
resistance to population of Puccinia gramihis tritici in India.
