Abstract

An investigation was undertaken to during 2002 to 2003 at Hisar assess and evaluate the performance of intercropping and stripcropping systems ofpearl millet [PennisetU/ll glaucu111 (L.) RBr elnend Stuntz] -legume association consisting of 17 treatments laid out in randomized block design. Sole crops recorded significantly higher seed and stover yields than respective inter (2:1) and strip [(4:2) and (6:3)] cropping systenls. Highest pearl millet equivalent yield and land . equivalent ratio was recorded with stripcropping ofpearl millet + clusterbean (Cyamopsis fetragon%ba) planted in 6:3 row patterns.
