A study was conducted during 2004 at Field Research Laboratory Research Station at Partapur, Nubra valley, Siachen sector of Ladakh during Apri Ito September 2004 to evaluate 8 cultivars ofpea (PiSU1Jl sativulJl L.), viz' Arkel', "Lincoln', 'Pusa Pragati', 'Matar Ageta 6', 'VL 7', 'Azad Pea 3', 'Pant Sabji Matar 3' and "PMR 4'. The results revealed the earliness (42.6 days) in 'Matar Ageta 6' while 'Lincoln' and 'PMR 4' took maximum tinle (64-65 days) for first pod picking. Days to 50% flowering varied from 42.6-58.0 days. Number ofpods/plant varied from 7.33 ('Matar Ageta 6') to 19.00 ('PMR 4'). Average pod weight varied from 4.80 ('Pusa Pragati') to 6.07 g ('PMR 4'). Pod yield/plant was the maximum in 'PMR 4' (92.67 g) followed by 'Lincoln' (89.33 g), whereas 'Matar Ageta 6' gave the minimum (29.33 g).
